Currently breaking out as a solo artist, Trent Hancock, debuts his highly anticipated EP, Ghostbird, now available on iTunes. The singer/songwriter is taking an off date during his upcoming national tour of more than 20 cities with renowned acoustic soul singers Ernie Halter and Tony Lucca, to open for pop star Ryan Cabrera on July 27 at the Key Club on the legendary Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by clicking here.
Hancock’s tour with Halter and Lucca launches Sunday, July 11 at Sainte Rock in Hermosa Beach, Calif. and wraps at Workplay in Birmingham, Ala. on August 26. Other cities on their itinerary include San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Nashville and Atlanta to name a few.
Currently a resident of Brooklyn, NY after years of living in San Diego, Hancock—who recently picked up endorsements by Gibson and Sennheiser --worked on Ghostbird with producer Mikal Blue--who helmed Colbie Caillait’s double platinum debut Coco, plus recordings for Five For Fighting and OneRepublic--to create six-track project. Blue’s partner Andrew Williams is also a producer on Ghostbird.
It’s not uncommon for indie artists to cite The Beatles as primary musical influences--but Hancock weaves the Fab Four into his back story in several unique ways in the new EP. Also, inspired by New York City, he began immersing himself in the city’s music scene, inspiring him to develop his original songwriting, and work on mainstream pop/rock material which he would eventually release on Ghostbird.
