The 2nd Annual World Peace Pilgrimage to Mount Baldy, Southern California –
Saturday, July 24th, 2010
On Saturday, July 24th, the Second Annual World Peace Pilgrimage will take place upon Mount Baldy, 50 miles east of Los Angeles.
For the last 51 years, members of The Aetherius Society, a non-profit spiritual organization based in Hollywood, have been making pilgrimages to Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains to send out healing energy to the world through prayer.
Mount Baldy has been recognized as a holy mountain by the local Tungva and San Gabrielino Native Americans for generations. Since August 9th, 1959, it has been regarded by The Aetherius Society as one of 19 holy mountains around the world.
This coming Saturday an interfaith World Peace Pilgrimage will take place on the mountain with a Venerable Buddhist monk, a Muslim Imam, a Christian Bishop and many other members from the Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Brahma Kumaris and other faiths joining together to pray and chant for world peace.
This event is endorsed by the Southern California Committee for the Parliament of the Worlds Religions (SCCPWR), the Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP) and the Unity and Diversity World Council.
Last year, over 200 people from various faiths hiked the mountain in a collaborative effort to join in prayer for world peace. We hope you can join us!
