Book sale in Sierra Madre Aug. 6 and 7

"Summertime
And the living is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high"

"Summertime," the song immortalized in the Gerswhin class, Porgy and Bess, reminds us that this time of year is for kicking back, and experiencing life as it saunters by at its most leisurely pace.

Books can be as easily enjoyed up in the mountains, down at the beach, or even under that favorite shady tree in the back yard. They require no batteries and need not be near any antenna towers.

Hot weather is projected for August. The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library recommend you stretch out in that shade, or even inside, and get lost in the pages of an engrossing book.
