Picture Me Broken streaming album online

Bay Area rockers PICTURE ME BROKEN are giving fans the opportunity to stream their debut album, Wide Awake, this week exclusively at Purevolume.com (purevolume.com/picturemebroken).

The band garnered much attention from the site when they were named one of Purevolume’s "Top 20 Unsigned Bands of 2009," prior to signing a deal with legendary metal label, Megaforce Records, earlier this year.

With their album available starting today, Picture Me Broken is celebrating the release with a hometown show in San Francisco on July 10th at Slim’s. Fans who purchase a ticket to the show will also receive a FREE copy of Wide Awake upon entry. Pre-sale tickets are available here: justgreatmanagement.com/pmbslims.htm.
(see below for all upcoming Picture Me Broken tour dates).

Wide Awake’s vicious opener “Dearest (I’m So Sorry)” not only sets the tone for the band’s fiery debut, but the song is also heating up on the Rock Band Network, with over 6,000 downloads since premiering in May. The song also earned the band an MTV VMA for "Best Breakout Bay Area Band” in 2009.

AOL's Noisecreep.com commented "[Picture Me Broken] make aggressive music with a maturity that is leap years beyond their actual ages," which is reflected in songs such as the technical and powerful "Echoes Of An Empire" and “Darwin’s Song," while “If I Never Wake Again” is a beautiful, building number that opens with piano, and ends in crushing guitars and cathartic wails.

Picture Me Broken’s blend of hard-rock, post-hardcore and metal is lead by the vocal onslaught of Layla “Brooklyn” Allman, “which can move ably from a siren’s call to a screeching roar at the slightest provocation,” says Alternative Press.

Recorded while the band was still in high school, mostly over the weekends and after class, Wide Awake is a collection of new and old songs that reflect the band’s growth over the years. Written and recorded sporadically over a year, Wide Awake was recorded with notable Bay Area producers Scott Llamas of Popsmear Records and Aaron Hellam, with additional production work from Scott Gillman and famed producer Mudrock (Avenged Seveonfold, Godsmack), with Shelly Yakus (John Lennon, U2, The Ramones) of MyStudio.net after-mastering the album.

Picture Me Broken is Brooklyn (vocals, synth), Nick Loiacono (lead guitar), Will Escher (rhythm guitar), Austin Dunn (bass, vocals), and Connor Lung (drums). Guest vocalist Tyler Bush (of Ten Days New) appears on "Echoes of an Empire".
