Owen Morris (Oasis, The Verve) has produced the Eastern Conference Champions' full-length debut, Ameritown (Suretone Records), hitting retail on July 17th. The Bucks County, PA-based trio released an EP, The Southampton Collection, in 2006. That EP, plus a series of enthusiastic tour dates, earned the band a dedicated following with the public and press alike.
Here’s what the media has to say about ECC:
“[Ameritown] promises to have a wide musical range that pushes the genre boundaries of classical and rock and roll.” -Filter
“We like their fun, fervent blend of indie rock…” –URB
“Eastern Conference Champions, who impressed early with everything from their strong cult following to their high-energy flexibility, was spot on thanks to the pounding drums of Greg Lyons and the wide baselines of Vern Z.” -SPIN.com
After a successful (minus the hassle of their stolen gear and damaged van) Los Angeles residency at the Silverlake Lounge, the band hit the highway to crisscross the US with Ambulette, the Films and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band is currently on a US tour with Ozma that began on June 5th. ECC returns to their old stomping grounds of Philly for the XPoNential Festival on Friday, July 20th.
