Tater wins grand prize in SPCA contest

Tater, the adorable little bulldog from North Carolina has swept the nation by storm in SPCA’s PetStyle competition (www.spcacontest.com). With his loveable features and priceless photo, Tater was the grand prize winner in the national competition.

The contest, which resembled a national beauty pageant for animals, kicked off on May 23rd and has been garnering attention from dog and cat lovers across the country. The competition ended Friday July 20th and the winners were notified.

Tater has been making a name for himself since first posting his photo on the PetStyle website, and now that the contest is finished, he is prancing away with the grand prize.

Although only 10 pets can flaunt their prizes, all animals got a little taste of the celebrity lifestyle, being looked and judged by the nation. Taters, the Grand Prize Winner, parents will even receive:

• Round-trip first class airfare for two on Delta Air Lines from any Delta Air Lines
gateway city in the U.S. to Los Angeles.
• Three nights at the luxurious Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills.
• Limousine service between LAX and the Peninsula Hotel.
• Two days car rental (optional).
• A $150 gift certificate to Spago in Beverly Hills and reservations for dinner for two.
• A $100 gift certificate to Typhoon in Santa Monica and reservations for dinner for two.

“It is sad to see our competition end. It was difficult to choose a favorite pet because they’re styles and stories are all so unique,” said Stephanie Scroggs, Director of Communications for the SPCA. “Although every dog, puppy, cat and kitten submitted was distinct, they all have one extremely important common thread - love from their pet parents.”
